Kimie Romeo met with Thousand Island high school students on Oct 7, speaking about the Lake Ontario LAMP and how SAFE Club could connect their Club activities to community action.

Mrs. Romeo brought the global issue closer to home by discussing Lake Ontario and St. Lawrence River water issues, and discussed different ways that each individual student could make a difference. Kimie plans to return in the Spring to offer DEC Citizen Science training to students in the following areas: PRISM (monitoring aquatic invasive species), WAVES (stream sampling) and CSLAP (open water and blue/green algae monitoring).
